Liyari Project
The Rotary Club of Karachi, which has committed itself to providing higher standards of living for the people of this city, has started a new project to educate poor children of the community. It started constructing a school in Lyari on a land offered by Pakistan Navy and measuring 2,730 square yards. The school will be known as Rotary Club of Karachi PN Secondary School with a constructed area of about 23,000 square feet.
The ground breaking ceremony was held on 10 March 2004 and it will take about 18 months to finish. The project, on completion, will accommodate approximately 1,600 children in the Lyari area and provide them good quality, low-cost education. The total cost of the project is estimated at rupees 14 million.
