The Rotary Club of Karachi has committed itself to providing higher standards of living for the people of this city, started a new project to educate the poor children of the community by constructing a school in Lyari on a land offered by Pakistan Navy measuring 2,730 square yards.
The school is known as Rotary Club of Karachi Pakistan Navy Secondary School with a constructed area of about 23,000 square feet.
The ground breaking ceremony was held on 10 March 2004 and it took about 18 months to finish. The project accommodate approximately 1,600 children in the Lyari area and provides them good quality, low-cost education. The total cost of the project was estimated at rupees 14 million.
